School Site Council

The PHHS School Site Council (SSC) is a committee of teachers, counselors, parents, students and administrators who are responsible for planning and sustaining the Single Plan for Student Achievement and the School Safety Plan per SB197.

What does that mean? Council positions are elected by peers for a two-year term. Nominations from parents and volunteers are asked for prior to Back-to-School Night in September. That allows us to hold elections during that evening in the Piedmont Hills Library. Meetings begin in September. If you have any questions, comments or want additional information please contact the principal or SCC President.

Some main SSC responsibilities include:

  • Meeting once a month, or more for sub committees
  • Helping in the writing and implementation of the Single Plan for Student Achievement
  • Approving the School Safety Plan
  • Approving the expenditures of categorical funds
